What started as a father and son venture in 2009 has grown into one of the most trusted names in custom home building in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Founded by Victor and Erin Wood, Wood Builders, Inc. was built on a foundation of hard work, family values, and a passion for quality craftsmanship.
For Erin Wood, homebuilding isn’t just a career—it’s in his blood. As the grandson of Robert Baumberger, a well-respected homebuilder in the region for over 40 years, Erin was exposed to the industry at an early age. He spent his teen years working alongside his grandfather, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and developing a deep appreciation for the trade. From there, he expanded his expertise in concrete work and general construction, working for another area builder before taking the leap to start Wood Builders, Inc. alongside his father, Victor Wood.
Today, Erin leads the company as President, handling business operations and general contracting duties, ensuring that every home meets the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and craftsmanship. Victor remains an integral part of the team, focusing on coordinating jobsite management and overseeing finishing details to bring each project to life.
